It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – for some it’s the most wonderful time of the year, for students it’s an extremely poor and stressful time.
But don’t fear, here are my top tips on how to buy Christmas presents on a budget.
Set your price for each recipient and stick to it
This is essential if you’re on a budget. I recommend sticking to £10 per person. That way you can get something decent without going crazy and ending up spending £400 on Christmas presents.
Go to shops where they do box sets and deals
I recommend going to shops such as Boots where they do box sets and ‘stocking filler’ presents for a reasonable price. They also do deals such as ‘2 for the price of 3’ which means you can kill two birds with one stone and get all your Christmas shopping done in no time.
Try and aim to do a lot of the shopping around Black Friday
Although Black Friday has been and gone, a lot of the sales are still going on. So be quick and you might be able to find something half priced.
Look at the sale section online
This is key when buying presents on a budget! Guaranteed you will find something that your recipient will like and can potentially be up to 60% off. So it is definitely worth having a look.
If all else fails, attempt a DIY style present
If none of the above suit you, attempt DIY. This can turn into something easy and meaningful all the while costing you pennies.
