Halloween and Bonfire Night are over – it’s time to get ready for Christmas

With only 46 days to go and the Advent calendars already on the supermarket shelves, I think it’s legitimately time to say the C-word.

Here at Volunteer HQ, we’ve had a special request from the Big Man himself. And he wants to know… do you have what it takes to be one of Santa’s elves?

Seeking: enthusiastic, festive-loving, friendly volunteers to help out at the University’s Christmas Party, Saturday 9th December, 11.30am to 2.30pm.

This annual event is organised by a team of volunteers for the children of staff at the University and we need your help.  This year’s festivities include Christmas themed crafts, activities, games and competitions, face painting, glitter-tattoos, a disco and dancing … not to mention, the chance to meet Father Christmas himself in his magical grotto.

We need a team of jolly helpers to get involved with the festive fun, both on the day and in the lead up getting all of the decorations up and presents wrapped.  You don’t need to have any prior experience or to be studying on a particular programme – the only requirements are a willingness to get involved, flex those creative muscles and a friendly manner – no grumpy elves need apply.

If you’re studying on Primary Education, Childhood Studies, related degrees or would like to work with children in the future, then this is a great experience to put on your CV…and it’s a guaranteed way to get your name on the Good List.   Don’t forget that you can log your volunteering hours online and they count towards the Christ Church Extra Award.
