Introducing… Unified’s Agony Aunts

Are your problems causing you agony? Well, we have Aunts to help you get through the toughest situations.

Unified’s Agony Aunts; Hafsa Hasan and Gemma Hubert will aid you with words of wisdom and comfort.

A little introduction to our Aunts…

Hafsa Hasan, Forensic Investigation and Bio-sciences student

My name is Hafsa Hasan. I’m in my 3rd year of uni (doing a placement year this year) and I’m studying Forensic Investigation and Biosciences. My interests for my course stem from my fascination of law and criminology and the way science works.

Hobbies & Interests

I am not a person of habit so even if I’m uneasy, I can find comfort in change. This moves me onto my personal interests as they can vary from getting active with sports, to reading books like sand running through my fingers. I take great pride in my current and favourite interest turned business, of being professional Henna Artist.

As an Agony Aunt…

University is an odd, exciting, and intense part of your life – especially when it’s your first year. Becoming an Agony Aunt for Unified gives me a chance to share my experience and advice for those going through a difficult time, be it minor or major.
I am looking forward to working alongside Unified this year and I believe my personal, professional, and student experience can relate to a range of the Unified audience.

 Favourite quote:

“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.” – Mike Tyson

Gemma Hubert, Psychology student

My name is Gemma and I am going into my 3rd year studying Psychology.

Hobbies & Interests

I chose Psychology as I would love to go into using music therapy as a treatment for Dementia.  I am massively into music, but the old stuff: The Doors, The Smiths and The Beatles but with a soft spot for Noah and the Whale.

As an Agony Aunt…

Uni can be a difficult place, with problems arising that you’ve never had before, and after spending two years here I felt like having a resident Agony Aunt would be a great place for people to get advice. Whether it’s problems with housemates or your course, there will be something that can be done!

Favourite quote:

“Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon” – Winnie the Pooh
