Canterbury’s ex prison provided one of the best and most unique Summer Ball venues ever and one we hope they use again.

See what Amelia Lily thought about the prison in our exclusive interview with her after she performed to hundreds of CCCU students and staff.

Other than the stages there was free fun fair games, hot food, two bars and Chapel Chill for people to enjoy and relax in-between the action.

Chapel Chill was serving toast and soft drinks all night and gave Ball goers somewhere to sit down and chill out.

Beat a Maxx was on The Lounge stage and said he was buzzing to perform inside a prison.

Speaking to Unified after her performance on the Cloud 9 main stage Samantha Harvey said: “I went out there expecting that no one would know who I am then everyone was great, they were lovely.

“It’s one of the strangest but nicest venues that I’ve ever performed in.

“When your actually on stage and everyone is singing back to you it’s a feeling you can’t really describe, it’s amazing.”

Scott Mills rocked the main stage and the crowd were absolutely loving it.

Other acts included Scouting 4 GirlsImani Williams, the Jersey Rollers, Sweet Female Attitude, Platinum and Abbey McCarthy.

We would like to thank Kent Police for keeping everyone safe and St John’s ambulance for being on site incase anyone needed them.

  1. Kent Police? I thought it was Private security? I know some of them from campus. Especially after the terror attacks I think they did an amazing job x.
