This June, Cancer Research UK are encouraging us to don our walking shoes and walk 10,000 steps a day to raise money for lifesaving research.
10,000 steps is approximately 5 miles and to get started all you’ll need is a pedometer (most smartphones will have free downloadable apps for this). Upon signing up, you’ll be guided through how to create an online fundraiser page and be emailed a starter pack with tips on how to fundraise with a physical sponsorship sheet too.

The average person walks 3-4000 steps a day, so not only will this challenge benefit your health, you’ll be raising money while you’re doing it.
Whether you walk your dog a little further each day, politely miss the lift your Dad’s offered you to school, explore your local area with friends, or take a relaxing walk during your revision break, every step you take and donation you receive will make a difference.
